Taninthayi is the southernmost point of Myanmar, heading down parallel with Thailand, seperated only by the Chan river. Along some parts of the river, the two nations are less than 100m apart.

Places of interest

Kawthoung (Victoria Point)
A small port, acting as the gateway to the Mergui Archipelago, home to Myanmar’s most top beaches and diving sites. Kawthoung has no roads linking it to the rest of the country and is only accessible by air or by boat from Ranong, across the Chan river in Thailand.

Dawei
This sleepy seaside town is the jump off point to get to the beautiful Maungmakan Islands.
