Rakhine State is, sadly, one of Myanmar's trouble hotspots. This is all centred around the Muslim community, who seperate themselves from the rest of the state. Refused recognition by the government, many have been forced to flee into neighbouring Bangladesh to escape persecution.

Obviously, this area of the country is virtually untouched by visitors.
